Improved wound healing
de la Brassinne, Thirion L, Horvat LI. A novel method of comparing the healing properties of two hydrogels in chronic leg ulcers. J.Eur.Acad.Dermatol.Venereol. 2006;20(2):131-5.
In a comparison of the healing properties of Flaminal® and Intrasite® Gel, both surface area and wound volume decreased over time, with wound volume being the first parameter to change. Wound volume reduction was visible after just 7 days of treatment with Flaminal®, whilst wound surface reduction was noted after 14 days of treatment. Differences in wound volume reduction between Flaminal® and Intrasite® Gel was significantly greater with Flaminal® and detected as early as day 7. Differences in surface reduction were also significantly greater with Flaminal® and this difference was clearly apparent at day 28 with a reduction in surface area of 63% in the Flaminal® group compared with 19% in the Intrasite® group.
