How does Flaminal® (Hydro) work?

Flaminal® (Hydro) contains two naturally occurring enzymes, glucose oxidase and lactoperoxidase.

Glucose oxidase converts glucose and oxygen into peroxide ions
Lactoperoxidase selectively binds to microbial cell walls and converts peroxide ions into reactive oxygen species

This unique mode of action sets Flaminal® (Hydro) apart from other topical antimicrobials by selectively destroying the microbial cell wall without damaging cells involved in wound healing.
