How does Flaminal® (Hydro) work?
Flaminal® (Hydro) contains two naturally occurring enzymes, glucose oxidase and lactoperoxidase.
 |
Glucose oxidase converts glucose and oxygen into peroxide ions |
 |
Lactoperoxidase selectively binds to microbial cell walls and converts peroxide ions into reactive oxygen species |
This unique mode of action sets Flaminal® (Hydro) apart from other topical antimicrobials by selectively destroying the microbial cell wall without damaging cells involved in wound healing.
